OPSEU Vote Better Campaign

Hello Sisters and Brothers of Region 1,

I am writing with 1 week left to vote before Election Day on June 7th!
I want to encourage you to pass along the message of get out and vote and share OPSEU’s website, with our members, comparing the platforms.

I believe in a platform that supports all of our 155,000 OPSEU members and the Public Services we so proudly deliver to the citizens of Ontario. Thats why on the tele town hall 2 nights ago I announced that not only had I already voted but that I voted for the NDP!
Their platform is the only platform that not only supports our members and the services we deliver but goes further by seeking to expand services and making Ontario a better place for all of us to live.

OPSEU “VoteBetter” campaign is encouraging all of our member to get out and vote and so you should receive a call from a Region 1 mobilizer encouraging you to vote and chat about the platforms.

OPSEU Local 101 Collective Agreement Wage Rates (Windsor Regional Hospital)

As of the pay end date of May 18, 2018 (starting May 19, 2018) the new OPSEU collective agreement wage rates are now in the HR system.  That means that all hours paid starting May 19, 2018 are at the new wage rate for each employee.   Those wage rates will show on the pay deposit for May 24 (pay stub that is sent May 23)

The retro payments for the wage rates for all hours paid for the period from April  1, 2016 to May 18, 2018 are being calculated and processed for the pay deposit date of July 5, 2018 (four (4) full pay periods from May 3 (ratification date).

Windsor Regional Hospital OPSEU 101 Members

Please be advised that we have heard from our benefits carrier that the change to benefits from the collective agreement has now been implemented into the Green Shield system. 

The claims dated from May 3, 2018 will be honored.

The booklets are being updated but the plan changes are in place.  

OPSEU 101-WRH Contract Update

Hello Everyone!

The 2016-2019 collective agreement has been ratified by the Employer.

Some of the changes contained in the collective agreement need a little lead time to implement.

Part Time scheduling by seniority and the change to 12 hours required to be scheduled off between shifts will begin with the posted schedule on May 18th which covers the period of June 16th to June 29th and continues on a go forward basis.

PT staff will be contacted in the next couple of weeks by their managers to get their shift commitment. This is your opportunity to let the employer know your ideal number of shifts. The minimum PT commitment is 4 shifts per pay and you can request up to 10 shifts per pay which will be allocated by seniority. Remember, ALL part time staff are guaranteed 4 shifts per pay.

Overtime by seniority will begin immediately unless it has already been scheduled.

Increases to vacation entitlements for those who are eligible are a work in progress and we will let you know when to expect to see those changes implemented.

Further updates on when to expect to see your wage rate increase and retroactivity to come.
