Let’s create a Community of Immunity
It’s that time of year again – influenza season – and we are expecting a harsh season based on the experience in the southern hemisphere, which occurred a few months before us, and saw the highest number of confirmed influenza cases and hospitalizations in the last 5 years, peaking about a month earlier than normal. Staff, students, volunteers and professional staff can help us fight this seasonal battle and create a “community of immunity” by getting the flu shot as soon as possible since it can take up to 2 weeks to build immunity.
The flu shots are now available in the Employee Health office at both campuses, and starting next week, flu clinics will be held at the Met campus, October 30 – November 3, and the following week at the Ouellette campus, November 6-9.
