September 30th is Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day to honour the survivors of the residential school system including those who did not make it home. We also take time to reflect, remember and recognize the ongoing effects of intergenerational trauma while recommitting ourselves to our responsibility to truth and reconciliation.

  • Orange Shirt Day in Windsor-Essex

  • National Truth and Reconciliation Day MAAMWII BIMOSE “Walking Together” with Indigenous People

o   Location: Amherstburg (King’s Navy Yard Park; 252 Dalhousie)

o   Time: September 30th, 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm

  • Caldwell: Sacred Fire Walk & Feast for the Children

o   Location: Caldwell Community Hall (14-22 Orange St, Leamington, ON N8H 1P5)

o   Time: September 29, 2023; fire to be lit 9 am; walk begins 10 am; feast at 11:30 am
